1 Corintios 12:12-26
Porque así como el cuerpo es uno, y tiene muchos miembros, pero todos los miembros del cuerpo, siendo muchos, son un solo cuerpo, así también Cristo. Porque por un solo Espíritu fuimos todos bautizados en un cuerpo, sean judíos o griegos, sean esclavos o libres; y a todos se nos dio a beber de un mismo Espíritu. Además, el cuerpo no es un solo miembro, sino muchos. Si dijere el pie: Porque no soy mano, no soy del cuerpo, ¿por eso no será del cuerpo? Y si dijere la oreja: Porque no soy ojo, no soy del cuerpo, ¿por eso no será del cuerpo? Si todo el cuerpo fuese ojo, ¿dónde estaría el oído? Si todo fuese oído, ¿dónde estaría el olfato? Mas ahora Dios ha colocado los miembros cada uno de ellos en el cuerpo, como él quiso. Porque si todos fueran un solo miembro, ¿dónde estaría el cuerpo? Pero ahora son muchos los miembros, pero el cuerpo es uno solo. Ni el ojo puede decir a la mano: No te necesito, ni tampoco la cabeza a los pies: No tengo necesidad de vosotros. Antes bien los miembros del cuerpo que parecen más débiles, son los más necesarios; y a aquellos del cuerpo que nos parecen menos dignos, a estos vestimos más dignamente; y los que en nosotros son menos decorosos, se tratan con más decoro. Porque los que en nosotros son más decorosos, no tienen necesidad; pero Dios ordenó el cuerpo, dando más abundante honor al que le faltaba, para que no haya desavenencia en el cuerpo, sino que los miembros todos se preocupen los unos por los otros. De manera que si un miembro padece, todos los miembros se duelen con él, y si un miembro recibe honra, todos los miembros con él se gozan.

2. Ser miembros de la iglesia significa que todos somos diferentes.
a. Cada uno es parte del cuerpo.
b. Diversidad como característica.

Ser miembros de la iglesia significa que todos tenemos una tarea.
a. Dios da capacidades.
b. Dios da un lugar de servicio.

4. Ser miembros de la iglesia significa que todos trabajamos juntos.
a. Nadie puede prescindir del otro.
b. Aun los menos pensados son necesarios.

"The Church Matters"

“The church exists for those that aren’t here yet”

1 Corinthians 12:12-26
For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body— Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. For the body does not consist of one member but of many. If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. If all were a single member, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, yet one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.

"Love your Neighbor"

“Love your neighbor” is God’s primary method of spreading the Gospel

“Love your neighbor” is an opportunity to be hands and feet of Jesus

Luke 10:25-37
And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?” And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.” But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion. He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.’ Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?” He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said to him, “You go, and do likewise.”

A true neighbor is willing to sacrifice their TIME, MONEY, and EFFORT

A true neighbor’s motivation is passion for the Gospel and love for people

Y he aquí un intérprete de la ley se levantó y dijo, para probarle: Maestro, ¿haciendo qué cosa heredaré la vida eterna? Él le dijo: ¿Qué está escrito en la ley? ¿Cómo lees? Aquel, respondiendo, dijo: Amarás al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con todas tus fuerzas, y con toda tu mente; y a tu prójimo como a ti mismo. Y le dijo: Bien has respondido; haz esto, y vivirás. Pero él, queriendo justificarse a sí mismo, dijo a Jesús: ¿Y quién es mi prójimo? Respondiendo Jesús, dijo: Un hombre descendía de Jerusalén a Jericó, y cayó en manos de ladrones, los cuales le despojaron; e hiriéndole, se fueron, dejándole medio muerto. Aconteció que descendió un sacerdote por aquel camino, y viéndole, pasó de largo. Asimismo un levita, llegando cerca de aquel lugar, y viéndole, pasó de largo. Pero un samaritano, que iba de camino, vino cerca de él, y viéndole, fue movido a misericordia; y acercándose, vendó sus heridas, echándoles aceite y vino; y poniéndole en su cabalgadura, lo llevó al mesón, y cuidó de él. Otro día al partir, sacó dos denarios, y los dio al mesonero, y le dijo: Cuídamele; y todo lo que gastes de más, yo te lo pagaré cuando regrese. ¿Quién, pues, de estos tres te parece que fue el prójimo del que cayó en manos de los ladrones? Él dijo: El que usó de misericordia con él. Entonces Jesús le dijo: Ve, y haz tú lo mismo.

2. El distanciamiento social produce Indiferencia Impensada. (Lc. 10.31-32)
(Social distancing produces Unthinkable Indifference)

3. El distanciamiento social produce Compasión Genuina.(Lc. 10.33-35)

Mejor Juntos: ¿Quién es el Jefe?
==========

Efesios 6:5-9
Siervos, obedeced a vuestros amos terrenales con temor y temblor, con sencillez de vuestro corazón, como a Cristo; no sirviendo al ojo, como los que quieren agradar a los hombres, sino como siervos de Cristo, de corazón haciendo la voluntad de Dios; sirviendo de buena voluntad, como al Señor y no a los hombres, sabiendo que el bien que cada uno hiciere, ese recibirá del Señor, sea siervo o sea libre. Y vosotros, amos, haced con ellos lo mismo, dejando las amenazas, sabiendo que el Señor de ellos y vuestro está en los cielos, y que para él no hay acepción de personas.

1. Un Problema Especial.
“Siervos, obedeced a vuestros amos terrenales…” (6.5a)
a. Considere su trabajo como una sociedad con Dios.
b. Considere su trabajo como una oportunidad y sea agradecido.

2. Una Perspectiva Efectiva.
“Con sencillez de vuestro corazón, como a Cristo.” (6.5b)
a. Considere su trabajo como un lugar de servicio.
b. Considere su trabajo como una responsabilidad y sea fructífero

3. Un Plan Excelente.
“sirviendo de buena voluntad, como al Señor y no a los hombres.” (6.7)
a. Considere su lugar de trabajo como un lugar donde testificar.
b. Considere su trabajo como un ministerio y sea fiel.

MejorJuntos: El Mejor Padre y el Mejor Hijo

Efesios 6:1-4
Hijos, obedeced en el Señor a vuestros padres, porque esto es justo. Honra a tu padre y a tu madre, que es el primer mandamiento con promesa; para que te vaya bien, y seas de larga vida sobre la tierra. Y vosotros, padres, no provoquéis a ira a vuestros hijos, sino criadlos en disciplina y amonestación del Señor.

A. El deber de los hijos
Hijos, obedeced a vuestros padres en el Señor, porque esto es justo. 2 Honra a tu padre y a tu madre(que es el primer mandamiento con promesa), 3 para que te vaya bien, y para que tengas larga vida sobre la tierra. (Efesios 6.1-3)

B. El deber de los padres
Y vosotros, padres, no provoquéis a ira a vuestros hijos, sino criadlos en la disciplina e instrucción del Señor. (Efesios 6.4)

"Better as One"

Marriage is a 100% commitment, not a 50-50 contract.

Couples that keep score will never have a fulfilling marriage.

Ephesians 5:22-33
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, because we are members of his body. “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

Focusing on your spouse meeting your needs will always lead to disappointment

Submission is a gift to be offered not a command to be demanded

Mutual submission is a beautiful picture of the Gospel

Married Couples

Don’t just survive...COMMUNICATE
Don’t talk down to your spouse...especially in public
Take trips together...without the kids

Single but Looking

The wrong person is much worse than no person...don’t settle
Don’t marry someone you don’t trust...they must be “submit-worthy”
