La iglesia bajo ataque
Hechos 6.1-7
==========

‭‭Hechos‬ ‭6‬:‭1‬-‭7‬‬

‭‭Acts‬ ‭6‬:‭1‬-‭7‬‬
Now in these days when the disciples were increasing in number, a complaint by the Hellenists arose against the Hebrews because their widows were being neglected in the daily distribution. And the twelve summoned the full number of the disciples and said, “It is not right that we should give up preaching the word of God to serve tables. Therefore, brothers, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty. But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” And what they said pleased the whole gathering, and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a proselyte of Antioch. These they set before the apostles, and they prayed and laid their hands on them. And the word of God continued to increase, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests became obedient to the faith.

1. Sensitive to the needs.
2. Wisdom in facing challenges.
3. Sustained by their word.

‭‭Acts‬ ‭4‬:‭32‬-‭37‬‬
Now the entire group of those who believed were of one heart and mind, and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but instead they held everything in common. With great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was on all of them. For there was not a needy person among them because all those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the proceeds of what was sold, and laid them at the apostles’ feet. This was then distributed to each person as any had need. Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus by birth, the one the apostles called Barnabas (which is translated Son of Encouragement), sold a field he owned, brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

‭‭Acts‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬-‭16‬‬
But a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property. However, he kept back part of the proceeds with his wife’s knowledge, and brought a portion of it and laid it at the apostles’ feet. “Ananias,” Peter asked, “why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the proceeds of the land? Wasn’t it yours while you possessed it? And after it was sold, wasn’t it at your disposal? Why is it that you planned this thing in your heart? You have not lied to people but to God.” When he heard these words, Ananias dropped dead, and a great fear came on all who heard. The young men got up, wrapped his body, carried him out, and buried him. About three hours later, his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. “Tell me,” Peter asked her, “did you sell the land for this price?” “Yes,” she said, “for that price.” Then Peter said to her, “Why did you agree to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.” Instantly she dropped dead at his feet. When the young men came in, they found her dead, carried her out, and buried her beside her husband. Then great fear came on the whole church and on all who heard these things. Many signs and wonders were being done among the people through the hands of the apostles. They were all together in Solomon’s Colonnade. No one else dared to join them, but the people spoke well of them. Believers were added to the Lord in increasing numbers — multitudes of both men and women. As a result, they would carry the sick out into the streets and lay them on cots and mats so that when Peter came by, at least his shadow might fall on some of them. In addition, a multitude came together from the towns surrounding Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.

TAKE A MULLIGAN!

Forgive Yourself

Philippians 3:13-14
“Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN!

Focus on God's Word

It keeps a good connection:

Psalm 119:130
“The opening of Your word gives light, imparting understanding to the simple.”

It breaks a bad habit:

Psalm 119:11
I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.

Romans 6:12,14
“do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. For sin shall not be your master”

GRANT A "GIMME!"

Forgive Somebody Else

Colossians 3:13
“Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

Mateo 1

‭‭S. Mateo‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭25‬‬
Aram engendró a Aminadab, Aminadab a Naasón, y Naasón a Salmón. Salomón engendró a Roboam, Roboam a Abías, y Abías a Asa. Asa engendró a Josafat, Josafat a Joram, y Joram a Uzías. Uzías engendró a Jotam, Jotam a Acaz, y Acaz a Ezequías. Ezequías engendró a Manasés, Manasés a Amón, y Amón a Josías. Zorobabel engendró a Abiud, Abiud a Eliaquim, y Eliaquim a Azor. Azor engendró a Sadoc, Sadoc a Aquim, y Aquim a Eliud.

‭‭Mark‬ ‭14‬:‭12‬-‭26‬‬
On the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they sacrifice the Passover lamb, his disciples asked him, “Where do you want us to go and prepare the Passover so that you may eat it?” So he sent two of his disciples and told them, “Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him. Wherever he enters, tell the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher says, “Where is my guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’ He will show you a large room upstairs, furnished and ready. Make the preparations for us there.” So the disciples went out, entered the city, and found it just as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover. When evening came, he arrived with the Twelve. While they were reclining and eating, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me — one who is eating with me.” They began to be distressed and to say to him one by one, “Surely not I?” He said to them, “It is one of the Twelve — the one who is dipping bread in the bowl with me. For the Son of Man will go just as it is written about him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for him if he had not been born.” As they were eating, he took bread, blessed and broke it, gave it to them, and said, “Take it; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank from it. He said to them, “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many. Truly I tell you, I will no longer drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.” After singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

Nada Ni Nadie
Romanos 8:31-39
==========

‭‭Romanos‬ ‭8‬:‭31‬-‭39‬‬

4. Quién puede separarnos de Dios?
- ¡Nadie! ¡Porque Cristo nos ama!

More Gospel Goodness
Romans 8:12-19

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭12‬-‭19‬‬
So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.

1. Obligation

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭12‬‬
So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.

2. Identification

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭15‬‬
For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭17‬‬
and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭1‬:‭2‬-‭3‬‬
but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭16‬‬
The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭13‬-‭14‬‬
For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

‭‭1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬‬
See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

3. Glorification

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭17‬-‭18‬‬
and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1‬:‭13‬-‭14‬‬
In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬‬
But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”—

‭‭Luke‬ ‭17‬:‭11‬-‭19‬‬
While traveling to Jerusalem, he passed between Samaria and Galilee. As he entered a village, ten men with leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and raised their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” When he saw them, he told them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And while they were going, they were cleansed. But one of them, seeing that he was healed, returned and, with a loud voice, gave glory to God. He fell facedown at his feet, thanking him. And he was a Samaritan. Then Jesus said, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Didn’t any return to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And he told him, “Get up and go on your way. Your faith has saved you.”

1. Jesus comes to where you are
· His Presence

Leviticus 13:45-46
45 “Anyone with such a defiling disease must wear torn clothes, let their hair be unkempt, cover the lower part of their face and cry out, ‘Unclean! Unclean!’ 46 As long as they have the disease they remain unclean. They must live alone; they must live outside the camp.

2. Jesus shows you who He is
· His Power

‭‭Luke‬ ‭17‬:‭14‬‬
When he saw them, he told them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And while they were going, they were cleansed.

1 Corinthians 15:58
… be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Colossians 1:6
All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing…

3. Jesus changes you from who you were
-His Promise

‭‭Luke‬ ‭17‬:‭15‬-‭19‬‬
But one of them, seeing that he was healed, returned and, with a loud voice, gave glory to God. He fell facedown at his feet, thanking him. And he was a Samaritan. Then Jesus said, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Didn’t any return to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And he told him, “Get up and go on your way. Your faith has saved you.”

Romans 5:5
This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Because of what Jesus has done, our hope gives us the promise that everything will turn out okay, even if everything doesn't appear to be okay, right now.

Romans 8:28
We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.

George Washington, 1789
"By the President of the United States of America. A proclamation: Whereas, it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor, and

"Whereas, Both Houses of Congress have by their joint committee requested me `to recommend to the people of the United States a day of Public Thanksgiving and Prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God. . .’

"Now, Therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the benevolent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be..."

‭‭John‬ ‭17‬:‭3‬‬
This is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and the one you have sent — Jesus Christ.

‭‭Romans‬ ‭7‬:‭14‬-‭25‬‬
For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am of the flesh, sold as a slave under sin. For I do not understand what I am doing, because I do not practice what I want to do, but I do what I hate. Now if I do what I do not want to do, I agree with the law that it is good. So now I am no longer the one doing it, but it is sin living in me. For I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh. For the desire to do what is good is with me, but there is no ability to do it. For I do not do the good that I want to do, but I practice the evil that I do not want to do. Now if I do what I do not want, I am no longer the one that does it, but it is the sin that lives in me. So I discover this law: When I want to do what is good, evil is present with me. For in my inner self I delight in God’s law, but I see a different law in the parts of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and taking me prisoner to the law of sin in the parts of my body. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with my mind I myself am serving the law of God, but with my flesh, the law of sin.

“People are slaves to whatever controls them.”
2 Peter 2:19

1. What is Your Sin?
7:15

2. How Does Your Sin Affect You?

It fools you.
7:19

It steals your hope.
7:18

It hurts your relationships.
7:24

3. How Can You Have Victory Over Your Sin?

1 Corinthians 10:13
“No temptation has seized you except what is common to man, and God is faithful: He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but when you are tempted He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.”

Get honest with God and Others

1 John 1:9
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

James. 5:16
“Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect. ”

Rely on God and His Word

Romans 8:2-3
The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do since it was weakened by the flesh, God did. He condemned sin in the flesh by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh as a sin offering,

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the ideas and thoughts of the heart.

Psalm 119:11
“I have treasured Your word in my heart so that I may not sin against You.”

Scripture is poison to your sin!

If you’re not willing to put more of God’s word into your mind, then you’re not willing to fight for victory over your sin.

Galatians 5:16
“I say then, walk by the Spirit and you will certainly not carry out the desire of the flesh”
