And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.

BIBLICAL FELLOWSHIP IS FOUNDATIONAL TO THE CHRISTIAN LIFE

“Fellowship” comes from the Greek word koinonia
·      A mutual bond
·      Sharing
·      Close association

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:24-25‬‬
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Every situation should be viewed as a temptation from the “evil one” and a testing from God

Understand the battle

Forgive me
Protect me

Forgiveness of sin is necessary for a relationship with a perfect God

Salvation provides eternal forgiveness from a just God

Confession focuses on our daily relationship with God the father

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:14-15‬‬
For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

A person with a forgiving heart recognizes the severity of their sin

A person with a forgiving heart understands the magnitude of Gods grace

Matthew 6:10-11

PRAYER REVEALS OUR PRIORITIES
Your kingdom come, your will be done

THE KINGDOM IS THE END GOAL OF ALL GOD IS DOING.
Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Kingdom - a place and a people under the authority of a king

GOD WANTS TO MAKE EARTH LIKE HEAVEN
…on earth as it is in heaven.

PRAYER TEACHES US DEPENDANCE
Give us this day our daily bread.

PRAYER TEACHES US DEPENDANCE
·      Be ok not having it all.
·      Don’t forget God if abundance comes.
·      Thank God for the blessings you have experienced in life.
·      Consider what you use your abundance for.

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:31-33‬‬
Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

As followers of Jesus everything we do is about advancing the Kingdom of God

Attempting to appear spiritual is empty and destructive

Matthew 6:5-8
“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Prayer is an intimate pursuit of Jesus

Prayer is an authentic trusting relationship
